| Morris Technologies, Inc. (MTI) has been involved in the Rapid Prototyping and Product Design field since its inception in 1994. In 2003, MTI was the first company in North America to introduce a revolutionary technology to the marketplace called Direct Metal Laser Sintering, or DMLS. This technology is a laser-based process that sinters 20 micron sized metal particles layer by layer building 3-dimensional parts in a matter of hours and days. In 2005, MTI introduced a new sintering alloy called Cobalt Chromium (CoCr). The properties of this remarkable alloy propelled DMLS into applications that previously were not possible. In the last two and half years, MTI has demonstrated tremendous success using CoCr in a variety of fully functional, highly demanding applications, and has continued to pour significant resources into various R&D projects related to DMLS and into testing of new and exciting alloys. In early 2006, MTI recognized that DMLS and other additive metal fabrication technologies were going to change the way many parts were made and acquired. Convinced that we were witnessing the birth of a new industry, MTI went forward with plans to establish a separate company that would be solely focused on the manufacturing of parts using technologies such as DMLS. Much of this decision was based on the concept that Prototyping and Short-Run is completely different than Production on many different levels. We strongly believe that it is critical to the success of each entity that a clear separation is established between the two. - Greg Morris, CEO, Morris Technologies, Inc.
